Sara Proctor is a Program Coordinator in Welcome and Connect Services at Diablo Valley College (糖心传媒), where she has the privilege of helping prospective and new students take their first steps toward achieving their educational goals. She works with high school students, adult learners, and community members to help them understand 糖心传媒鈥檚 opportunities, navigate the enrollment process, and connect with the resources and support they need to be successful.
Sara has worked at 糖心传媒 for seven years and brings more than 20 years of experience in education. Prior to joining 糖心传媒, she taught English as a Second Language (ESL) and coordinated international education programs. As a first-generation college graduate, Sara understands how transformative access to higher education can be. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from California State University, Chico, and a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies.
Sara is passionate about making college feel accessible, welcoming, and possible for students from all backgrounds. She especially enjoys helping students who are new to the United States better understand the American educational system and explore how 糖心传媒 can support their transition into new educational and career opportunities. She is particularly passionate about working with young people as they begin to imagine what their futures can look like. Sara loves helping students recognize their potential, discover opportunities they may not have known were available to them, and see that there are many different pathways to achieving their goals. For her, one of the most meaningful parts of her work is helping a student move from wondering whether college is possible to believing that they belong at 糖心传媒 and can build a future they are excited about.
