Parking

IMPORTANT: If you park near one of our campuses, in a surrounding residential neighborhood or business, to attend classes or events, pay attention to parking signs and enforcement rules. ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ is not responsible for parking enforcement off campus. 

Parking at the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ campus is free, and no permit is required.

Parking at the Pleasant Hill campus will require a physical semester or daily permit. Display semester permits in plain view, with all numbers and markings clearly visible.

    Current Rules and Information

    • $0.20/kWh for electricity
    • Valid parking permit required (cars without a permit are subject to ticketing)
    • $4/hour after four hours to encourage turnover
    • Same rates for everyone

    Most EVs get 20–25 miles per hour of charge, which is usually enough for daily commutes. Rates may adjust as electricity costs change.

    Pro tip: Download the ChargePoint app to find stations, start sessions, report issues and get updates on charging status or fees.

    Courtesy Tips

    • Charge only when you need to. Don't occupy EV charging spaces as all-day parking.
    • California law requires vehicles parked in EV charging spaces to be connected for charging. If you're not actively charging, please move your vehicle to a regular parking stall.
    • If you can charge at home, please do.
    • Use only EV-designated spots (no cord-stretching).
    • Respect the 4-hour charging limit so everyone gets a turn.

Fall/Spring Semesters

  • Cars: $50

  • Students with fee waiver: $30

Summer Session

  • Cars: $30
  • Motorcycles/mopeds: $20
  • Students with fee waiver: $30

One-day parking permits are $4 and parking citations are $40.

You can obtain both semester and daily permits through . Student semester permits and staff permits must be displayed in plain view with all numbers and markings clearly visible. Daily permits are virtual and are not required to be printed or displayed. Failure to obtain a valid parking permit will result in a citation.

Overflow parking: ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ will be offering additional parking at the beginning of the term in our overflow parking lot across from parking lot 7 on Golf Club Road. Overflow parking requires a permit.

      • Make sure that your license plate is correct when applying for your parking permit. Your license plate will be added to the parking permit database. You must provide your vehicle’s license plate number, make, and color.
      • If you will be driving a different vehicle during the spring semester, you will need to update your vehicle information online before parking on campus.
      • Failure to obtain a valid parking permit may result in a parking citation.

    Carpools

    Get to school faster and cheaper in a carpool. Two or more riders can use Highway 4 carpool lanes and get free access to 680 HOV lanes ( required on 680). Find carpool partners with free apps like , , or .

    BART

    Take to Concord or Pleasant Hill, then hop on a County Connection bus to reach ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½. Try the for real-time info. BART-to-Bus transfer fare is $1.00.

    Bus

    provides frequent service to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ from BART and local communities on Routes 9, 18, 20 and 28. In ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½, Route 35 goes between the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ campus, BART and local communities. is $2.00 with Clipper or $2.50 cash. County Connection offers a 31-Day Local Pass for $60 on Clipper.

    Clipper Card

    is the Bay Area's all-in-one transit card. Order a Clipper Card online or purchase a card at Walgreens, Whole Foods and other retail locations.

    Pledge to try transit as an alternative to driving alone to/from campus and get a free pre-loaded $20 Clipper Card from 511 CCTA. Students must be enrolled in at least 9 units to be eligible for this incentive. !

    Clipper offers the program, which provides single-ride discounts to eligible riders. Participants receive a 50% discount on services like BART, County Connection, Muni, Wheels and more.

    ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ offers a Clipper card program for students in need of public transportation assistance. Please contact basicneeds@dvc.edu for more information.

    Bikes + Electric Bikes

    Bike racks are located around campus. Bikes are allowed on BART () and County Connection (). The is a Class I multi-use trail adjacent to ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ and connects Pleasant Hill with Martinez, Walnut Creek and Concord. Class I and II Electric Bikes are allowed on both the Canal and Trails (15 mph speed limit). The offers route-planning options.

    Go ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½

    If you’re trying to get to the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ campus from the ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ and Dublin areas, you may be able to use Go ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ to get $5 off a Lyft or Uber ride. Signing up is free and easy. Visit the to see if your ride qualifies. The ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ campus is located within Zone 2.

    Guaranteed Ride Home

    Available to people who work or attend school in Contra Costa County, the  Program provides up to six free rides home (Lyft/Uber/taxi) for those who commute via public transit, carpool, vanpool, biking or walking. Preregistration is recommended but not required.
