Get Emergency Alerts
ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ will communicate emergency information through text messages, email, classroom communication devices, and other campus systems.
Keep Your Contact Information Current
Make sure your mobile number and other contact information are correct in InSite so you receive important alerts. In :

- See Registered Phones, to review and/or select Modify to update your number.

- Contact Police Services and share your campus location.

- Use FriendWatch to share your walk across campus with someone you trust.
- Submit an anonymous report.
What to Do in An Emergency
Remain calm and follow instructions provided through alarms, emergency alerts, classroom communication devices, college employees, or public safety personnel. If you are not in a safe location, move to safety when you can do so without placing yourself or others at greater risk. Call 911 when there is an immediate threat to life or property.

A room, building or campus area may need to be evacuated because of fire, an earthquake, a power outage, a hazardous condition, or another emergency.
If an evacuation is ordered:
- Leave the area calmly and promptly.
- Take essential belongings only if conditions allow.
- Use the stairs, not elevators.
- Assist others when it is safe and you are able to do so.
- Go to the designated evacuation assembly area.
- Keep roads and walkways clear for emergency responders.
- Report injuries, trapped people or hazardous conditions to emergency personnel.
- Do not re-enter a building until authorized by public safety or college officials.

Sheltering in place may be necessary when it is safer to remain indoors than evacuate, including during criminal activity, wildfire or a hazardous materials incident. If instructed to shelter in place, move to a safe indoor location, secure doors and windows, follow official emergency instructions and remain sheltered until public safety personnel say it is safe to leave.

Campus Safety Systems

Classrooms and public meeting areas have communication devices that can connect directly with Police Services during an urgent situation, including a medical emergency.
To use a classroom communication device:
- Press the call button to connect with Police Services.
- Speak with the dispatcher through the device.
- Describe the situation and your exact location.
- Remain connected until the dispatcher ends the call.
Use the device even if someone has already called 911. It helps Police Services identify the exact campus location and coordinate the response.

Become familiar with how classroom doors lock from the inside. During an emergency, follow instructions from Police Services, emergency alerts and college employees.

Emergency-procedure posters and flip charts are located in classrooms and meeting areas. Review the materials in spaces you regularly use so you know where to find instructions during an emergency.

Students, employees and community members can call the Silent Witness Tip Line at 925-229-6464 to provide information without giving their name.
Do not use the tip line for an emergency or a situation requiring an immediate response. Call 911 instead.
COVID-19 Information
We are committed to the health and well-being of our students, employees, and community. The guidelines, FAQs and resources below are essential in keeping you, and our entire community safe.

Students and employees are not permitted to enter the campus and must notify their instructor or supervisor if:
- They test positive for COVID-19.
- They are experiencing any self-reported COVID-19 symptoms. They must leave the area if they develop symptoms while on campus.

Vaccinations
We continue to strongly recommend that everyone be fully vaccinated (including booster shots), as one of the best ways to prevent severe illness.
Masks
We support voluntary mask-wearing. Students can find paper masks in classrooms, division deans’ offices and the Student Services Center. Per CalOSHA requirements, N-95 masks will be available for employees in the deans’ offices.
Tests
Contra Costa Health provides and ways to obtain at-home tests.
Per CalOSHA requirements, ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½ employees may pick up free test kits in the following locations:
- Pleasant Hill: instruction office, AB 214; dean of enrollment services office, SSC 122

Are there enhanced cleaning protocols on our campuses?
Yes, there are enhanced cleaning protocols in place. We will continue to follow those established protocols (electrostatic spraying, disinfecting high touch areas and quick response to any/all reported infected areas). There will not be any cleaning between classes throughout the day. All cleaning will be done once per evening, after classes and campuses have closed.Will extra cleaning supplies (sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizer) be made available to service areas and departments?
Hand sanitizer will continue to be available in all rooms. Wipes are available as supplies allow in division offices. Disposable masks will continue to be available in all areas as well – classrooms and division offices.What efforts have been made to ensure that ventilation systems are functioning properly?
There is a current district-wide project to assess and repair ventilation and filtration systems to meet the CDC/OSHA HVAC recommendations. This work is active and on-going. Our expectation is that the areas initially identified as priority – those that will be occupied during fall semester – will be mostly completed prior to the start of the semester. -
What should students/employees do if they are not feeling well or know that they have been exposed to COVID-19?
Please contact your instructor(s)/supervisor if you need to miss work or class. Employees, students and vendors are not permitted to enter the campus if:- they have tested positive for COVID-19.

If you begin to feel sick while on-campus, leave campus immediately and seek medical attention.
